Western Conference Hottie: Taylor Pyatt (Vancouver Canucks)

Ok, I swear to God, I'm going to move to Thunder Bay, Ontario. Please someone tell me where to sign up. I know it's probably just my noticing them, but are all the men there 6'4" blond & blue eyed?!? (Stephanie, please try to laugh more quietly. Some of the ladies are trying to read this [I hope], laughs). [I've heard it's something in the water / air - (laughs)] I think my next project is going to have to be scouring the NHL for dudes hailing from "Valhalla-on-earth." In fact, maybe we can make an "all-Thunder Bay team." OK, I'm done blathering, I think.

IMPORTANT HOCKEY STUFF: As a very defensively-oriented forward, he doesn't have much in the stat department so far this year and with his injury, he's not likely to add to them in the near future. And also, since when I watch Vancouver, I have, ah, "other interests" (if you wanna know, ask) distracting me. I maybe don't pay as much attention to him as I should. He's very versatile and utilitarian player and last year moved around between the 1st and 3rd lines. He's a good hard checker and goes in and works for the puck. In fact, good work ethic all around. (I've detailed my attraction in that area before on this blog). Honestly I'm pretty superficial on this one. I can't tell you a whole lot other than he's a hard working player who does his best on the ice. Unfortunately he's out for the rest of the season with a broken foot (uh, what kind of therapy does that take to recover, anyone know? I'm sure I can uh, handle it).

THE REALLY IMPORTANT STUFF: I'm not even going to bother on this one. You ladies can all just guess! (uh, about the eyes, VIDEO try not to faint, when he looks at the camera!! ) 6'4" 230 lbs. (oh, my goodness, DROOL!!!) Since I'm a "Class-A Sucker" for tall guys in addition to my many other weaknesses (some of which are also well documented on this blog), I was "interested" immediately. He's also no panty-waist "bean-pole" but a nice muscular guy. I'm not into the "half starved" look, myself. I prefer the more "studly" type, so he totally fills the bill in that department. Snappy dresser ("Hugo Boss is the designer I wear quite a bit," he says.). Watches 24, on his i-pod video (Swoon!) and plays chess on his laptop (huh, ?). [For more details, READ HERE I promise it's worth it.] Some other cute and amusing tidbits, are - Favorite player when he was growing up was Mark Messier. He says he'd be a firefighter if he didn't play hockey (ok, that made my imagination tingle). [that's the occupation Sid said he'd have if he wasn't playing hockey - that's good fantasy material no matter which hockey player it is!] His favorite hockey memory is of the 2006 Eastern Conference NHL final. His favorite road city is Montreal (and why not? [giggle]). For the football girls (come on admit it, there's a few of you, I won't laugh, I'm one too), when asked "which one, Tom Brady or Peyton Manning", he says "Tom Brady," but I'll forgive him, he's Canadian... [I'm sorry, but I just CAN'T forgive that!]

  3. I hate to bring you down because he is a gorgeous guy...but I met him in I think it was 2006(?) when he was playing for the Sabres in the playoffs and he was not the nicest guy in the world. I was hoping he was just mad about something?? But he is definitely eye candy. So I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he was just mad about something :)

  4. @sabreschic87 - personality is part of the appeal, so I think I speak for all of the ladies (correct me if I'm wrong) when I say that I'd rather know the truth than not -- why bother lusting after someone if they're mean?!

But let's hope it was just a bad day for him (although - players are in the public eye, so they should be professional enough to set that aside for their fans, etc.).

    THANKS for the "inside info"!!

  5. Wow. His eyes are beautiful. Eyes like that are dangerous.

I was almost completely sold until he said Tom Brady. I'm a Peyton girl. His stock fell a tad for that.

All the rest works for me, though. :)

  6. @KD - AGREED!! I'm a Peyton girl too (can't really stand Tom "pretty boy" Brady), but then again, that's just my opinion!!

  7. @ Stephanie
I've been a Peyton girl since his playing days at Tennessee.
I CANNOT stand Tom Brady and I'm a ginourmous Michigan fan. It creates quite a dilemma for me.

As a result, I lump New England in with the likes of the Yankees, Ohio State, and the Flyers.

His eyes are just so dreamy...

Seriously, what is in the water in Thunder Bay?
I meant to say that too, but his eyes made me lose all coherent thought.

Seriously. There has to be something in the water up there...

  12. Thank you ladies so very much for the comments.

The fact that you enjoy these, so much makes the work worthwhile (although I must admit, it's not very difficult work). [smile]

    Thanks again.

  13. Ok, so I'm glad I waited until I got home to watch the video clip from Canucks TV. HOLY CRAP! Had I watched it at work, I would have fallen out of my chair. I'm pretty sure I stopped breathing for a bit when he looked into the camera. That warning was necessary.

  14. He is beautiful. It made me laugh when I saw him because when he was playing in Buffalo a while ago my grandmother saw a game he was playing in. She looked at me and said, "He is the cutest hockey player I've ever seen." Gotta agree, Grandma.

  15. @ anyone who's wondering what's in the water

the water is probably not what is determining the whole tall-blonde-hair-blue-eyed-Norse-god thing. it's probably DNA. (duh, you say, hear me out) Thunder Bay has a huge Dutch immigrant population. Ever seen the Dutch national soccer team?

  16. oh, and I'll bite: what exactly is the distraction on the Canucks? i mean other than trying to remember which Sedin is which?

  17. @ Mer,

The Sedins ARE the distraction, how did you guess [hysterical laughter]

  19. well the other players bug Py constantly about the eyes, like at the open practice when Kesler had the mic and Py was lining up for his shot and he introduced Py this way: "remember ladies he's got the most beautiful eyes on the team".
Personally think Kevin Bieksa is 10x hotter not only physically but because he can actually read...

  20. He is hot! :)
I'm a New England girl, so yanno, I like Tom Brady. So picking Brady, made him even hotter to me.
