When you fall down on the journey up the mountain, the disappointment of not making it to the top makes it difficult to appreciate just how far you have gotten.

Couldn't have said it better myself...thank you for reminding us that no matter what, those pens are a true class act!

To Our Boys:

Dear Penguin Family,

Don't leave the Igloo with your tail between your legs. You played a good season and I'm proud of you guys. Yes, you lost, and I can only imagine how much it hurts. However, use this defeat as a learning experience. You are going to lose a few guys next season, but don't worry, you're going to gain some new ones as well. Next season, come out with a WAR CRY! Check the "bad guys" into the boards, make more screens, connect passes, shoot in the upper corners, shoot more often, and show up to play every game. This year was not our year, the "hockey gods" decreed it as such. I believe in you and our organization, and next year IS OUR YEAR! So don't be discouraged and crestfallen, but stand tall and proud. You are champions in my eyes-win or lose- because of your character, teamwork, and brotherhood. I love you guys and am longing for next season to start already. LET'S GO PENS!!!

Your Fan,

Lauren D.

I'm so there next fall. It's a difficult thing for a team to make it to the Stanley Cup finals three times in a row, or the Cup twice in a row, especially when several players have played in the Olympics. I don't think we have to wait 17 years for another Cup, that's for sure.

Even the way most fans are reacting makes me proud to be part of this group. Awesome teams attract awesome fans.

Hope you don't mind but I stole that pic and put it as my facebook picture.

I'm sad that we lost yesterday, but I'm even more sad about Mellon Arena. I really had hoped to see her before the season was over but that didn't work.

I'm eagerly anticipating next year. We know we need to fix some things and we can do it. This team is still a great team and I have faith that we can win a cup within the next few years (heck why not next year?). A lot of our young players who are locked into long term contracts haven't even come into their prime! I'm looking forward to the future and to watching the Pens grow and mature even more.

It's really great to know that there are some real dedicated hockey fans out there. Personally, I'm a Canucks fan and it just really hurts when I hear people saying who should be traded after the season is over and everything because they couldn't play.

I'm glad to see that you guys stand by your team :)

I agree with everyone's comments here. I so wanted to visit the Igloo before it closed down, but it just wasn't to be.

Lauren D., your words of encouragement are fantastic! I learned a long time ago to never give up on the Pens until that final horn sounds (and even then I still believe for the next game).

Maybe winning the Stanley Cup every other year can be their new routine. That way they're sharing and not greedy! ;-)

It really does suck. I had Montreal break my heart twice. First with my Caps and then with my Pens. Honestly any team that can beat those 2 teams deserves a chance at Stanley. (plus I hate the Bruins and flyers so Montreal must win!)

I'm glad you ladies feel the same way I do. When I'm at games or even when I'm watching, it makes my skin crawl when people are ready to "give up" on the Pens!!! No one is perfect, so how can we expect this team to be night after night?? This is an amazing bunch of players ... they win TOGETHER and they lose TOGETHER which is how I think the fans should feel too!!!

THANKS for all the great comments and support for the Pens!!! : )
