I don't know if you caught it at the end of Game 1 (I didn't until they started making a big deal out of it and I saw the replay), but on his way to the locker room he passed Detroit's line of guys heading to celebrate with Osgood and "slashed" Maltby who took exception to it.
I could only find one video and it's not the best because you can barely see it, but there are many Detroit fans who are crying "foul" about it and I just see it as Crosby "taking care of business!"

But before you watch the video, get a load of the answer Sid gave when asked about it - something to the effect of, "because I felt like it," and I find it amusing. I just love getting a glimpse of these sides of Sid that you never knew existed!!
Q. Kirk Maltby spoke after the game about the little incident or maybe run?in that you two had. He gave his side of it. I wondered if you can explain from your side what maybe occurred.
SIDNEY CROSBY: Yeah, he was doing what he always does. You know, he was giving guys lip service and things like that. And you know, I two handed him on top of the foot there as we were skating by. So he felt like it was necessary to keep talking after the game, and I thought I'd whack him and that was it.

What's so wrong about that?
That's the kind of thing you have to be prepared for if your talking trash. Granted, I'd sure mention it if I'd been the one whacked.
I LOVE Sid's answer!!!!!!!
Kena's paraphrase - "F- it, I felt like it". ; )
frankly, i just thought that was immature of him to do. if you take exception to something another player says, deal with it DURING the game, not when it's over! that was a cheap, cowardly shot...that's all there is to it.
