Yes, you probably had the same reaction I did when I read that headline and even after I read the article!!
But I believe what I stumbled upon on The National Sports Review was a work of satire* by Bob Birge who, it says, is a "veteran sportswriter with 25 years of experience in the New York metropolitan area who loves the New York Yankees, New York Rangers and Notre Dame football."
This article is a "gem" and sums up pretty much every speculation that one has ever had about Crosby's residence at the Lemieux house, so read it in the manner it was written in (or so I believe) - as a true piece of satire*.
Thanks for the laugh, Bob (and nice try at shaking up the hockey world)!
I just got my 2009 Hallmark Keepsake Dream Book in the mail the other day as my family and I have always been huge collectors of Hallmark ornaments since I was a very young girl.
To my delightful surprise, who should I find on page 66(do you think that page # was random?)?? Sidney Crosby, of course!!! These will probably fly off the shelves like hot cakes!! There have already been several Lemieux as well as Roethlisberger ornaments which I have. This one will definitely be added to my collection as a FAVORITE of mine!!
According to the Pens webpage, talk at practice today was speculation that Paris Hilton is staying at the same hotel as the Penguins. So which one do you think would think of hooking up with her? I agree with Kena's guess -- Talbot!! Although I'm hoping none -- they don't need any distractions (or STD's!)!!!
I came across this video while looking at the NBC Sports webpage and it was televised back during the Pens game against the Caps on February 22nd (I must've forgot or missed it), but I figured it was too good of a video for any of us fans to miss, so I'm posting it here just in case you guys did!!
Admittedly, I started writing this a loooong time ago. Like before "Avery-gate" [hysterical laughter]. Well, now I've finally got it finished. When I started looking for videos for it, I found out that he's really not that much of a bad-ass on the ice. His rep comes from his running his mouth. I found a lot of videos of him getting his ass kicked. But not much of him kicking ass.
With that being said, I'll admit, I used to laugh at him when he was on the NYR team. Now he's back with the Rags. I never laughed when he was on the LA Kings, because I was always afraid of what he would start when they were playing the Stars. Believe me. Yes, he's funny, and yes, he's a land mine ready to blow. But when he's on your team. It's not so funny anymore. It's very, very stressful having him on your team. And I speak from experience here.
There is however this -
Which beyond all reason, I find to be a sheet-ripping, panty melting, drool inducing turn on!!!!!! (Yes, you just heard me say that about Sean Avery AND yes, there are some things about which I am not quite rational [Hockey/hockey players is one of them]).
It's "up" in the air, weather or not he was the reason the Rangers just lost the series against Washington, recently. It just seemed that he couldn't "hold it in" any longer. But well, Rangers... That's what happened in Dallas, kinda too. Sorry.

Holding Out for A Hero Bonnie Tyler (HftL's Theme Song)
Where have all the good men gone
And where are all the gods?
Where's the street-wise Hercules
To fight the rising odds?
Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed?
Late at night I toss and turn and dream of what I need
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night
He's gotta be strong
And he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light
He's gotta be sure
And it's gotta be soon
And he's gotta be larger than life
Somewhere after midnight
In my wildest fantasy
Somewhere just beyond my reach
There's someone reaching back for me
Racing on the thunder end rising with the heat
It's gonna take a superman to sweep me off my feet
Up where the mountains meet the heavens above
Out where the lightning splits the sea
I would swear that there's someone somewhere
Watching me
Through the wind end the chill and the rain
And the storm and the flood
I can feel his approach
Like the fire in my blood
