Crosby Pictures of the Week

This week there's a few ... no surprise (its probably a bigger surprise when I don't have more than one in a week, but then again, those weeks are for special pictures that just deserve to STAND ALONE!)!!!

I'm going to try something new this week just because it popped into my head and I think I like the idea (and I'm thinking it's not going to be every week, but something I do just when the mood hits me ... however, suggestions are always welcome, so ... see what you think!).

**************
Where have all good men gone
And where are all the gods?
Where’s the street-wise Hercules
To fight the rising odds?

Isn’t there a white knight upon a fiery steed?
Late at night I toss and turn and dream of what I need

I need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the end of the night
He’s gotta be strong
And he’s gotta be fast
And he’s gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the morning light
He’s gotta be sure
And it’s gotta be soonAnd he’s gotta be larger than life

Somewhere after midnight
In my wildest fantasy
Somewhere just beyond my reach
There’s someone reaching back for me

Racing on the thunder and rising with the heat
It’s gonna take a superman to sweep me off my feet

I need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the end of the night
He’s gotta be strong
And he’s gotta be fast
And he’s gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the morning light
He’s gotta be sure
And it’s gotta be soon
And he’s gotta be larger than life

Up Where the mountains meet the heavens above
Out where the lightning splits the sea
I would swear that there’s someone somewhere
Watching me
Through the wind and the chill and the rain
And the storm and the flood
I can feel his approach
Like a fire in my blood

I need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the end of the night
He’s gotta be strong
And he’s gotta be fast
And he’s gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the morning light
He’s gotta be sure
And it’s gotta be soon
And he’s gotta be larger than life

I LOVE the 80's!!! And I think of this song alot of times when I think of Sid [in my fantasies] ... did I just say that??!!!!

Seriously ... it does fit him which is why I used it today ... so it could possibly be the first and last time I do this because no other song is quite as appropriate ... so suggestions ARE WELCOME!!!

THANKS!! ; )

If you're going for epic 80s pump-up songs, the one that immediately came to mind for me is "Hearts on Fire" by John Cafferty. I don't think it works as well as "I need a Hero" but still fun! : )

That song reminds me of Shrek 2 (sorry but I wasn't alive in the 80s lol). But it's still a great song and especially suiting for Sid! He is a hero, he puts this team on his back when he needs too. Has he let us down yet?

During last nights game, I told my sister about this song---we were singing it every time Sid had the puck, then she starting singing it when Jordan had it too----then pretty much thru the whole game, we were didn't stop!! It was pretty funny (for us anyhow). I am such and 80's freak, I can't even begin to tell you how bad I have it.

It would be funny if they played it after Sid scored.

@Joyce ... SO COOL (I'm glad I started something fun!)!!!

and @EHisCDN - I doubt that Sid or the other male hockey fans would appreciate it as much as we do!!!

@ Stephanie
I doubt it too, but it certainly bring us female friends a whole bunch of joy. I can imagine just how much the guys would make fun of him in the dressing room though if it happened lol.
