(How I Became a [Female] Hockey Fan)!

I've loved hockey since I was a little girl. I'd sit on my couch and watch Mario and Jager play.

For a little while I lost interest...the penz weren't doin' so well, but when Mario returned, I was all pumped up again! Then, Crosby came. My dad always says, "Lauren, you're going to have a hard time having me let you go-out with or marry any guy...except Sidney Crosby-he has a free pass!" I laughed, but thought hmmm...

After a while of watching interviews and reading up on this hot hockey dude, I realized 1) he has great character 2) he's really mature 3) he's really funny 4) he has the cutest personality 5) he's pretty hot And I would count it the highest honor to go-out with him. And whoever ends up marrying him should thank her lucky stars that she found such a great guy.

Yeah, I love hockey and I love the players on the ice too and someday, I'm going to meet them-and let destiny choose my fate.

I don't know, Lauren, but I think you're going to have to stand in a long line of girls who have the same dream as you do to meet them "and let destiny choose" your fate, but here's to hoping you (and all the other girls) get that chance!!!  And its nice that your dad already gave you (him) a free pass.  We have a few things in common with watching Lemieux and Jagr and taking an interest in Sid ... so THANKS for sharing your story, Lauren!! : )
