"People from home have been so supportive of me since I was a youngster playing at Cole Harbour Place. I want as many people as possible to be part of this day," he said in a release Tuesday.A parade and "question-and-answer" session where fans can get their pictures taken with Sid and the Cup along with various other events are planned throughout the day. The celebration begins with the parade at 2:30 PM and will end with a concert later in the evening.
What a fitting way for Sid to celebrate both his birthday AND winning the Stanley Cup!!
More details will be forthcoming in the days to follow.

Wow, no matter what you are always a few steps ahead of me. I'm so impressed! :)
I'm so happy for Sidney that he gets to have the Cup on his birthday. I'm sure it means a lot to him that they were able to accomodate him with that.
Now the big question - just how long would it take me to drive (ferry) to Nova Scotia? ;)
I'm glad Sid's having the Cup on his birthday! Thanks for the update.
Why do I have to live so far from Nova Scotia?
This is a bit random, but I find it kind of funny that my word verification is 'comes' because it got me thinking how the Cup is coming to Sid on his birthday.
This is great news! Unfortunately I'll miss the parade (don't get to Yarmouth until about 2:30 PM - right when the parade starts). However, maybe I can make that concert! :-)
Awesome!!thanks for posting. I could have just looked in the news paper, but I always come here first for Cup information. It sounds like a fun day..now I just need to get the time off work! :) fingers crossed!!
